Sweet Honey Dog, My German Shepherd Akita Mix

Honey is a very sweet, very intelligent Akita Shepherd Mix. I got her when she was 13 weeks old off of Craigslist from a woman that had 4 kids. The puppy and her 1 year old did not get along very well (the kid hit the puppy and the puppy bit the kid!).

Honey is 17 weeks old now and lives with three cats but really only likes one of them. She has become an excellent watch dog already. She is VERY protective of the house. She barks up a storm when she sees or hears something unfamiliar at night.

She loves to be close to my daughter and I. She does not like to go outside unless one of us is with her. She loves to snuggle and nip. I am working on curtailing the nipping.

She is a wonderful puppy that is going to grow up to be a great dog.

Sweet Honey Dog, My German Shepherd Akita Mix - Part 2

Honey is now 7 months old and a sweet and wonderful dog.

She is very loving to me and my daughter but not very comfortable around strangers. I have tried socializing her but I think that this is just her personality around others. She takes to who she is comfortable with.

Super loyal and protective. Her den is under my bed. She has only been accepted by one of the cats in our house, Ms Soxanne. They play by ripping and running through the house acting like their fighting. Soxanne cares very deeply for Honey. When the puppy is whining about something, Sox has to come and see what's wrong with the dog.

Honey and I go for walks by the river and she just loves it. She loves to chase the ducks and geese that are on the shore. Honey has one slight drawback though. If I don't put the toilet paper away before I leave for work in the morning, she will tear up the toilet paper and leave it all over the place.

I kinda overlook that because Honey is my loving and protective buddy.
