Blackie Guards Body of Mistress and Succumbs to Starvation

Guardian German Shepherd Blackie was found dead alongside the body of her mistress.

An elderly woman in Romania, who had inherited her GSD, Blackie, from her grandaughter, was out on a walk with her beloved companion when she fell. Apparently, she tripped, lost her balance and could not get back up.

12 year old Blackie, refused to leave her mistress's side.

Their bodies were found together. It was estimated that Blackie had stood guard over her deceased mistress for 10 days, without food or water. She eventually succumbed to starvation.
